Rating: 4.5 (5 reviews)
Author: TSST

Question 1

Drive not detected or won’t eject?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA/ATA cable and power, and confirm BIOS sees the SH-222AB. In Device Manager, remove stale optical-drive entries and rescan; clear UpperFilters/LowerFilters only if optical device errors persist.

Question 2

Driver install fails or Windows uses a generic driver?

Accepted Answer

TSST typically provides firmware, not a separate Windows driver. Use Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver; if an installer rejects the OS, try compatibility mode or update firmware—not the ATA driver.

Question 3

Version/controller conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Avoid third-party IDE/ATA filter drivers. Roll back the ATA controller or optical drive driver, reboot, and let Windows reinstall the standard driver; match firmware to the SH-222AB revision.
