Author: TSST

Question 1

Install fails or driver error?

Accepted Answer

The TSST SN-208DN normally uses Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver, so avoid generic third-party driver packages. If installation fails, uninstall the old optical-drive entry in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows re-detect it.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm the SN-208DN appears in BIOS/UEFI. If BIOS sees it but Windows does not, use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate entries?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate/old CD/DVD device entries and any virtual-drive software that may conflict. Reboot and use the Windows-provided driver; avoid “driver updater” tools that may install incompatible versions.
