Name: TSST CDDVDW SH 216AB Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Install fails or setup exits?

Accepted Answer

The TSST SH-216AB normally uses Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver, so vendor setup packages for other TSST models or older Windows versions can fail. Confirm OS version and 32/64-bit, run setup as administrator, or let Windows Update install the generic driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm the drive appears in BIOS/UEFI. In Device Manager, uninstall any yellow-marked CD/DVD entry and scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version or duplicate conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old or duplicate optical-drive entries in Device Manager, then reboot. If the drive disappears after a Windows update, update the motherboard chipset/SATA driver and avoid forcing an incompatible TSST driver.
