Name: TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor Driver
Author: UPEK

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, disconnect other biometric devices, install chipset/USB drivers first, then reboot and retry the matching TouchChip driver package for your Windows version/architecture.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check that the fingerprint coprocessor is enabled in BIOS/UEFI and its internal USB connector is seated. In Device Manager, show hidden devices, uninstall unknown biometric/USB entries, then scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts or Windows Hello errors?

Accepted Answer

Remove old TouchChip/UPEK biometric software and stale driver entries, reboot, install the correct vendor driver, and re-enroll fingerprints. Avoid mixing a generic Windows fingerprint driver with the TouchChip coprocessor driver.
