TomTom HOME install fails or stalls?

For the XXL 540, download the latest TomTom HOME from TomTom, close sync/antivirus tools, and run the installer as administrator. Remove older HOME versions first.

Question 2

XXL 540 not detected over USB?

Accepted Answer

Use the original TomTom USB cable, connect directly to a rear USB port, and choose “connect to computer” on the device. Check Device Manager for unknown USB devices and reinstall TomTom HOME/USB drivers.

Version conflicts after updates?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old TomTom HOME and USB drivers, reboot, then install the current HOME version. Avoid generic GPS drivers; let TomTom HOME manage XXL 540 updates.
