Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The PCIxx21 driver is often an older OEM package. Run the setup as Administrator and in Windows compatibility mode for XP/Vista. If setup still fails, update manually in Device Manager by pointing to the extracted INF file.

Question 2

Device not detected / card reader missing?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS for an enabled flash media or card reader setting, then look in Device Manager for an unknown PCI device. Install the laptop’s chipset drivers first, then the TI PCIxx21 driver matching your Windows architecture.

Question 3

Version conflicts with Windows’ generic driver?

Accepted Answer

If Windows installs a generic driver or an older TI package remains, uninstall the device and delete its driver package, restart, then install the correct 32-bit/64-bit OEM driver. Use Roll Back Driver if a previously working version was replaced.
