Name: TeamViewer VPN Adapter Driver
Author: TeamViewer

Question 1

Install fails or driver won’t load?

Accepted Answer

Run the TeamViewer installer as administrator, accept the VPN driver prompt, and reboot if Windows reports a pending restart. Temporarily disable third-party antivirus/firewall during install if the virtual adapter driver is blocked.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

The adapter is virtual, so check Device Manager > Network adapters and enable View > Show hidden devices. If “TeamViewer VPN” is missing or disabled, reinstall TeamViewer, reboot, and confirm it appears in Network Connections.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Old TeamViewer VPN/TAP adapters can remain after upgrades. Uninstall other TeamViewer versions, remove stale TeamViewer VPN adapters in Device Manager, reboot, and install the same current TeamViewer version on both ends before testing VPN.
