Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the US-1200 before running the Tascam driver installer. Run setup as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and reboot when prompted. If it still fails, remove old Tascam/US-1200 entries in Device Manager, then reinstall the matching Windows driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB 2.0 port, not a hub, and try another cable. Confirm the interface powers on. In Windows Sound settings, check whether “Tascam US-1200” appears as a playback/recording device; if not, reinstall the driver and rescan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts or dropouts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Tascam drivers and set Windows and your DAW to the same sample rate, such as 44.1 or 48 kHz. Install the latest US-1200 driver for your Windows version, then reboot.
