Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing DisplayLink software, run the Targus/DisplayLink installer as administrator, and reboot before connecting the dock. Disconnect the dock during setup; reconnect only after the driver finishes.

Question 2

Dock not detected / displays stay blank?

Accepted Answer

Use the supplied USB 3.0 cable directly to a USB 3.0 port on the PC, not a hub. Confirm the dock’s power adapter is connected, reseat the cable, and try another USB 3.0 port. Install the latest DisplayLink driver first.

Question 3

Version conflicts / flickering or duplicate displays?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update may install an older DisplayLink driver. Remove all DisplayLink entries in Programs and Features, run DisplayLink Cleaner, reinstall the correct Targus/DisplayLink package, and reboot. Avoid mixing Targus and generic DisplayLink versions.
