Question 1

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

The STK1160 capture stick may show as an unknown USB device or not appear in Device Manager. Plug it directly into a rear USB 2.0 port, avoid hubs, then reinstall the driver with the device connected.

Question 2

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

Windows may block older EasyCAP/STK1160 drivers due to signing or compatibility. Run the installer as administrator and use a signed driver matching your Windows version; only disable driver signature enforcement temporarily if the vendor requires it.

Question 3

Version conflicts / no signal?

Accepted Answer

Old EasyCAP or STK1160 drivers can conflict and cause black video or missing audio. Uninstall the device and delete its driver, reboot, install one driver package, then select the correct composite/S-Video input and audio source in your capture app.
