Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Use the Supermicro P4SCE package for your exact Windows version. Right-click Setup and choose Run as administrator; for old installers, try Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, or update manually in Device Manager using the extracted INF.

Question 2

Onboard LAN/audio not detected?

Accepted Answer

Enable Onboard LAN/Audio in BIOS, install the Intel 845E chipset INF first, then rescan Device Manager. If devices remain unknown, install the matching Supermicro LAN/audio driver manually.

Question 3

Version conflicts or repeated device errors?

Accepted Answer

Remove conflicting generic Intel INF/LAN/audio drivers, reboot, and reinstall in order: chipset, then LAN/audio. Use Roll Back Driver or System Restore if a newer driver causes instability.
