Name: Steinberg UR12 Driver
Author: Steinberg

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the UR12, close DAWs and audio apps, run the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver installer as administrator, and reconnect only when prompted. If it still fails, uninstall any older Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver, reboot, and retry.

Question 2

UR12 not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB 2.0 port instead of a hub or dock, try a known-good USB cable, and check Device Manager for unknown USB audio devices. Avoid USB 3-only ports if detection is intermittent.

Question 3

Version conflicts or dropouts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Steinberg/Yamaha USB drivers, install the latest UR12-compatible driver, and match the sample rate in Windows Sound and your DAW. Close apps using exclusive mode if another program holds the device.
