Name: SteelSeries World of Warcraft Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse Driver
Author: SteelSeries

Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

The legacy SteelSeries software may fail on modern Windows. Run the installer as administrator, try Windows 7 compatibility mode, and temporarily disable antivirus before reinstalling.

Question 2

Mouse not detected or side buttons dead?

Accepted Answer

Connect the mouse directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for unknown devices, remove the old driver, then reinstall and reassign the MMO button profiles.

Question 3

Version conflicts with SteelSeries software?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall all existing SteelSeries Engine versions, reboot, and install only the compatible version for the Cataclysm mouse. Mixing newer Engine builds can stop profiles and macros from loading.
