Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the Star TVS Speed 40, run the manufacturer’s installer as administrator, remove any existing printer queue, reboot, then reconnect when prompted. Use the signed driver for your Windows version.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a direct rear USB port and a known-good cable; avoid hubs. Power-cycle the printer, check Device Manager for unknown devices, and confirm the correct USB port is selected in the driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Star/TVS receipt-printer drivers and queues, restart the Print Spooler service, then install only the latest package. Don’t mix 32-bit and 64-bit driver files.
