Name: STMicroelectronics 6 Axis Accelerometer Magnetometer Driver
Author: STMicroelectronics

Question 1

Install fails (Code 10/28)?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous STMicroelectronics MEMS/sensor driver, reboot, and run the installer as administrator. Confirm the package matches Windows architecture and the accelerometer-magnetometer device ID; avoid mixing OEM and ST packages.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check 3.3 V power, I²C/SPI wiring, and pull-ups. Verify the correct 7-bit I²C address (commonly 0x1E/0x1D for LSM303-style parts) and scan the bus with a known-good USB-I²C bridge. Confirm the sensor appears under Device Manager > Sensors.

Question 3

Version conflicts (Code 31/52)?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate ST accelerometer/magnetometer and sensor-hub entries, install the latest ST driver, then reboot. If the conflict persists, update the sensor hub/firmware and ensure only one ST sensor driver package is active.
