Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Star driver installer as administrator, close spooler-dependent apps, and restart the Print Spooler service. Confirm you are using the correct 32-bit/64-bit TSP800II (TSP847II) package and a supported Windows version.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the printer and connect it directly to a USB port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown device; if present, install the Star USB driver. For Ethernet models, verify the printer’s IP address and port settings.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Star TSP800/TSP800II print queues and driver packages via Print Management before installing the latest driver. Reboot, then recreate the queue. Avoid mixing older Star drivers or duplicate queues for the same TSP847II.
