Name: Star Micronics SP200 Driver
Author: Star Micronics

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Star SP200 setup as administrator, close any previous Star installer, and stop stuck print jobs. If Windows blocks the driver, uninstall older Star Micronics printer drivers, reboot, then reinstall the correct 32/64-bit package.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the SP200’s serial/parallel interface and cable, select the correct COM/LPT port in printer properties, power-cycle the printer, and check Device Manager for unknown ports. Run a printer self-test to verify hardware.

Question 3

Version/port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate SP200 or “Generic / Text Only” queues, clear the print spooler, and assign the port used by the installed Star driver. Avoid mixing old and new Star driver versions.
