Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Use the driver package that matches your Windows version and architecture, run the installer as administrator, and temporarily close antivirus/security tools that block driver installation. If setup still fails, extract the package and update the camera manually via Device Manager.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB 2.0/3.0 port directly on the PC, avoid unpowered hubs, and check Device Manager for an unknown camera or USB device. In Windows Settings > Privacy > Camera, enable camera access for apps.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing Sonix/eCam or generic USB video driver in Device Manager, reboot, then install the JIL 2225 driver. If a Windows update breaks the camera, roll back the driver or reinstall the vendor package.
