Name: slabvcp.inf Driver
Author: Silicon Labs

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Windows may block an older/unsigned package, or an existing CP210x driver is in use. Run the Silicon Labs installer as administrator, uninstall existing CP210x VCP entries in Device Manager with “Delete driver software,” reboot, then reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Check the USB cable and port; look for an unknown device or VID/PID `10C4` in Device Manager. Install the driver before plugging in the adapter, try another USB port, and confirm it is a CP210x device.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update or an OEM package may install an older `slabvcp.inf`. Remove the device and driver package, pause automatic driver updates during setup, install the latest Silicon Labs VCP driver, and reboot.
