Name: SiS PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller Driver
Author: SiS

Question 1

Install fails or installer won’t run?

Accepted Answer

The SiS package may not support newer Windows versions. Run it as administrator in compatibility mode, or update manually in Device Manager by browsing to the driver’s `.inf` file.

Question 2

Controller not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown PCI device. Reseat the add-in card, confirm PCI slot power, and enable USB EHCI/legacy USB in BIOS. Install the matching SiS chipset driver first.

Question 3

Version conflicts or Code 10/43?

Accepted Answer

Remove old USB controller entries and reboot before reinstalling. If Windows Update replaced the SiS driver, roll back to the vendor version and prevent automatic driver updates for that device.
