Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The legacy SiS package may be unsigned or blocked by OS checks. Run setup as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode; if it still fails, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, reinstall, and reboot.

Question 2

Device not detected or black screen after install?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the M760GX is enabled in BIOS and listed under Display adapters. Install the matching chipset/video driver for your laptop model first; if display is lost, boot into Safe Mode, remove the adapter, and reinstall.

Question 3

Version conflicts with OEM or Windows Update drivers?

Accepted Answer

Don’t mix generic SiS and laptop-vendor packages. Uninstall the existing driver with “Delete driver software” checked, reboot, then install the OEM SiS M760GX driver; block Windows Update from replacing it if resolution or color issues return.
