Question 1

Install fails or driver is rejected?

Accepted Answer

Older SiS 7001/OHCI drivers may lack modern Windows signatures. Use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse, or install the correct SiS chipset package; avoid forcing unsigned drivers unless from a trusted source.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown PCI device or yellow mark. Reseat the PCI card, enable USB legacy support in BIOS if applicable, and install the SiS chipset INF before the USB controller driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts with Windows’ generic OHCI driver?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the old SiS driver, remove hidden USB devices, then reboot and let Windows install its built-in OHCI driver. Roll back if a newer package breaks USB 1.1 devices.
