Name: SIS 7018 Driver
Author: SiS

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The SiS 7018 audio driver is old and may be blocked by Windows driver signing or installed with the wrong 32/64-bit package. Download the correct architecture, run Setup as administrator, and use compatibility mode or temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if needed.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or “Multimedia Audio Controller.” Enable onboard audio in BIOS, disable conflicting HD Audio if necessary, and install the SiS chipset/audio driver before rebooting.

Question 3

Version conflicts or no sound after update?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing SiS or generic audio driver in Device Manager, select “Delete driver software,” reboot, then install only one SiS 7018 driver version. Avoid mixing vendor packages with Windows Update audio drivers.
