Name: Silicon Motion Lynx 3D Driver
Author: Silicon Motion

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the package matches your Windows version and 32/64-bit architecture. Legacy Lynx 3D INF drivers may be blocked if unsigned; use a signed build or temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then install via Device Manager → Update driver → Browse.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown display adapter. Verify the PCI/AGP card is seated and enabled in BIOS, and confirm the hardware ID starts with `PCIVEN_126F`. If another GPU is active, don’t disable the Lynx 3D before installation.

Question 3

Version conflicts or black screen?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Silicon Motion or generic display drivers, reboot, then install only one Lynx 3D package. Avoid mixing 32/64-bit or OS-specific INF versions; set a supported resolution after reboot.
