Name: Silicon Image SiI 3512 SATALink Controller Driver
Author: Silicon Image

Question 1

Install fails or setup exits early?

Accepted Answer

The SiI 3512 package is legacy and often unsigned on newer Windows. Run setup as Administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode, or update manually in Device Manager using the extracted `.inf`. If blocked, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.

Question 2

Controller or disk not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI card, try another slot, check SATA data/power cables, and enable the controller/legacy storage option in BIOS. Look for an unknown mass-storage device in Device Manager and install the SATALink (non-RAID) driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts or BSODs?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Silicon Image/vendor RAID drivers first; do not mix RAID and SATALink packages. If a newer driver causes boot problems, roll back via Device Manager.
