Question 1

Install fails or driver won’t start?

Accepted Answer

The SiI 3132 package is old and may be blocked on Windows 10/11. Extract the correct 32/64-bit driver, run the installer as administrator, or install through Device Manager > Update driver > Browse. For Code 10/52, remove older Silicon Image entries and reboot before reinstalling.

Question 2

Drive/controller not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check PCIe seating, SATA/power cables, and BIOS/UEFI port settings. In Device Manager, use Action > Scan for hardware changes. If the SiI 3132 shows a warning, install its driver; if absent, test another PCIe slot.

Question 3

Version conflicts/BSODs?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing SiI 3132/3114 drivers and SATALink utilities before changing versions. Match the driver to Windows architecture and avoid mixing vendor and Microsoft AHCI drivers. Use System Restore if boot fails.
