Question 1

Install fails or setup exits early?

Accepted Answer

SiS 530 packages are legacy and often unsigned. Run setup as administrator, try Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode, or install manually via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse > Have Disk and point to the driver’s `.inf` file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm integrated graphics is enabled in BIOS and install the SiS chipset/AGP driver before the display driver. In Device Manager, enable “Show hidden devices” and check for disabled or unknown display adapters.

Question 3

Version conflicts, Code 43, or black screen?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing SiS display driver, reboot, then install one matching driver version. Avoid mixing Windows Update and vendor packages; roll back if the problem starts after an update.
