Name: Sierra Wireless Gobi 2000 HS USB Modem 9001 Driver
Author: Sierra Wireless

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sierra package as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode; check setup logs for missing VC++/installer errors. If Windows blocks the older unsigned driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, install, then re-enable it.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

In Device Manager, look for an unknown USB composite device or Gobi 2000 modem. Rescan hardware, try another USB port, and confirm the WWAN/modem is enabled in BIOS or laptop switch. Avoid USB hubs.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Sierra Wireless/Qualcomm Gobi WWAN drivers and modem entries, tick “Delete the driver software,” reboot, then install the package matching the 9001 PID. Don’t force a generic Gobi driver.
