Name: Sierra Wireless EM7355 Gobi 5000 USB Composite Device 901F Driver
Author: Sierra Wireless

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The INF may not match the EM7355’s USB VID/PID (901F) or the package may be unsigned. Run as administrator, confirm Hardware IDs in Device Manager, and use the OEM/Sierra INF that lists 901F; do not force a generic Gobi driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the WWAN/airplane switch and BIOS WWAN setting, then disable USB selective suspend for the composite device. If only “USB Composite Device” appears, install the Sierra wireless WWAN driver so the QMI/MBIM and COM interfaces enumerate.

Question 3

Version conflicts/code 10/28?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Sierra/Gobi drivers and remove leftover packages with `pnputil /delete-driver`, reboot, then install one matching OEM driver package. Avoid mixing Lenovo/Dell/Sierra versions.
