Name: Sharp MX M850 PCL6 Driver
Author: Sharp

Question 1

Install fails or stops midway?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp installer as administrator, close other printer utilities, and restart the Print Spooler service. Remove any partially installed MX M850 entries in Print Management before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the MFP’s IP address and that it responds to ping. Add the printer manually using a Standard TCP/IP port with the correct PCL6 driver, rather than relying on WSD discovery.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Sharp PCL6/PS drivers and duplicate queues first. Install the latest Sharp MX M850 PCL6 package, then set it as the default driver; avoid mixing Universal Print Driver and model-specific queues on the same port.
