Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp MX M202D installer as administrator and stop the Print Spooler before retrying. Remove any existing Sharp MX-M202D queues in Print Management, then reboot and reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the USB cable is connected directly to the PC, or for network use enter the printer’s correct IP address and create a Standard TCP/IP port. Verify the MX M202D is on the same subnet and responding to ping.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Sharp PCL/PS/UPD drivers before installing the new package. Match the driver to Windows architecture (32/64-bit) and avoid mixing model-specific and universal drivers on the same queue.
