Author: Sharp

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing Sharp MX-C402SC queue, run the PCL6 installer as administrator, and temporarily disable security prompts. Reboot before retrying; use the correct 32/64-bit package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the MFP is on the same network/subnet and reachable by IP. Add it manually via Add Printer > TCP/IP using the Sharp MX-C402SC IP, then select the PCL6 driver. For USB, use a direct rear-port connection and a known-good cable.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Delete duplicate Sharp PCL/PS queues and old ports, clear the print spooler, then install only the latest MX-C402SC PCL6 driver. If output is garbled, switch the queue to PCL6 and disable bidirectional support.
