Name: SHIMANO SM BCR2 (COM17) Driver
Author: Shimano

Question 1

Driver install fails or SM-BCR2 shows as unknown device?

Accepted Answer

Run the Shimano/E-Tube Project installer as administrator, disconnect the SM-BCR2 first, reboot, then reconnect. If Windows blocks the driver, install the latest signed Shimano driver and avoid third-party COM-port drivers.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Connect the SM-BCR2 directly to a USB port (no hub), use a known data cable, and confirm the Di2 battery is connected and the charger LED is on. Check Device Manager for COM17; if missing, uninstall the device and rescan.

Question 3

COM port/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older E-Tube Project and SM-BCR2 drivers before installing the current version. If COM17 is busy, change the assigned COM port in Device Manager and restart E-Tube Project.
