Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp installer as administrator, close other print installers, and remove existing Sharp MX B382 entries in Printers & scanners and Print Server Properties before retrying. Reboot if files are locked.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For network use, confirm the MFP’s IP and create a Standard TCP/IP port; avoid WSD if discovery fails. For USB, use a direct rear port and known-good cable, then reinstall the PCL6 driver.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows may use a built-in or older Sharp driver. Delete the queue, remove the old driver package from Print Server Properties, then install the current MX B382 PCL6 package and set the correct port.
