Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Sharp AR/MX printer queues and drivers first, run the PCL6 installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. Confirm you are using the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package for the AR M451U.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check USB/network connection and power. For network use, assign the printer a static IP, keep PC and printer on the same subnet, restart the Print Spooler, then add the printer manually by IP with the Sharp PCL6 driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts or garbled output?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous Sharp PCL5/PCL6 or Universal drivers, delete stale printer ports, reboot, then install the AR M451U PCL6 T1 package. Avoid mixing PS/Universal drivers with PCL6.
