Name: Sharp AR M256 PCL6 T1 Driver
Author: Sharp

Question 1

Installation fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the printer, run the Sharp installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. If an older Sharp AR-series driver exists, remove it via Print Management > Drivers before reinstalling the PCL6 T1 package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the AR M256 is on the same network/subnet and use its current IP address, not an old hostname. For USB, use a direct rear port and a known-good cable; check Device Manager for an unknown printer device.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Sharp PCL6/PS drivers and delete stale printer queues and ports. Reboot, then install only the AR M256 PCL6 T1 driver and assign the correct port.
