Name: Sharp AR M256 PCL5e Driver
Author: Sharp

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp PCL5e installer as administrator, remove any previous Sharp AR driver package, restart the print spooler (`net stop spooler` / `net start spooler`), then reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer has a reachable IP address and ping it. Create a Standard TCP/IP port manually with that IP instead of relying on WSD auto-discovery, then assign the PCL5e driver to the port.

Question 3

Version conflicts / wrong driver?

Accepted Answer

In `printmanagement.msc`, remove old or duplicate Sharp AR M256 queues and drivers, especially mixed PCL5e/PCL6 or 32-bit/64-bit packages. Reinstall the matching architecture driver and set the correct TCP/IP port.
