Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the printer, run the Sharp setup as administrator, and remove old SHARP AR M201/PCL6 queues via Print Management before reinstalling. Reboot if Windows reports the driver is in use.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, try another port/cable; for network, confirm the printer’s IP and that port 9100 is reachable. Add a Standard TCP/IP port manually and select the SHARP AR M201 PCL6 driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts/duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update may install a generic PCL6 driver. Remove duplicate AR M201 entries, keep one Sharp PCL6 queue, and set it as default. Match driver architecture (x64/x86) to Windows.
