Question 1

Installation fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp AR-168S setup as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and remove any existing Sharp printer entries in Printers & scanners before reinstalling.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the USB cable and port, power-cycle the AR-168S, and confirm it appears in Device Manager. If Windows shows an unknown device, install the Sharp USB driver first, then the printer driver.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Sharp AR-168S drivers and delete the stale print queue/port; reboot and install the matching 32/64-bit package. Avoid mixing WSD and USB ports.
