Name: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex USB Device Driver
Author: Seagate

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect other USB storage, run the Seagate installer as administrator, and use a direct rear USB 2.0 port—not a hub. Reboot before retrying; the GoFlex drive normally uses Windows’ built-in USB mass-storage driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the GoFlex adapter on the drive, try the original USB cable, and test another port/PC. If Disk Management shows the drive without a letter, assign one; if it shows “Not Initialized,” do not initialize unless you do not need the data.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Seagate Dashboard/FreeAgent/Memeo software and any manually installed USB mass-storage drivers, reboot, then install the current package. Avoid forcing generic drivers over Windows’ signed driver.
