Question 1

Installer fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the ScopeTek DCM 300 setup as administrator and in Windows 7 compatibility mode if using an older package. Temporarily disable driver signature enforcement only if Windows blocks the unsigned driver, then reinstall.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the DCM 300 directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for “Unknown device” or a yellow warning; uninstall it, replug the camera, and rescan. Confirm the microscope software is set to the ScopeTek TWAIN/DirectShow source.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ScopeTek drivers and imaging apps before installing the current package. Remove hidden old camera entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install one driver version only.
