Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

CASmate Pro v6.52 is legacy software. Run setup as administrator in Windows 95/98/XP compatibility mode, install to a short local path, and temporarily disable antivirus. If it still fails on 64-bit Windows, use a 32-bit Windows VM.

Question 2

Cutter/plotter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the plotter is powered, online, and set to the correct emulation (HP-GL or manufacturer mode). Check that the LPT/COM port selected in CASmate matches the physical port, use a known-good cable, and avoid unsupported USB-to-serial adapters.

Question 3

Version or port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older CASmate builds and cutter drivers first, reboot, then install v6.52 alone. Do not mix newer Windows plotter drivers with CASmate’s legacy port settings; keep one configured output port per cutter.
