Name: ScanSnap iX500 Driver
Author: Fujitsu

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ScanSnap Manager/Home and any prior iX500 driver, restart Windows, then run the latest Fujitsu installer as administrator with the scanner disconnected.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the iX500 is powered on and connected directly to a working USB port—avoid unpowered hubs. Try another cable/port, restart ScanSnap Manager, and check Device Manager for unknown USB devices.

Question 3

Version conflicts or repeated prompts?

Accepted Answer

Don’t mix ScanSnap Manager and ScanSnap Home. Remove leftover software, install one compatible package for your Windows version, and reboot before reconnecting the iX500.
