Name: ScanSnap S500 Driver
Author: Fujitsu

Question 1

Driver install fails on Windows 10/11?

Accepted Answer

The ScanSnap S500 uses legacy drivers. Run the installer as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if blocked. Use the Fujitsu package matching your OS bitness.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the power supply and USB cable; connect directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, remove any unknown/error ScanSnap entries, reboot, then reinstall.

Question 3

Version conflicts / duplicate scanners?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall all existing ScanSnap Manager and S500 driver entries, restart, and install only one Fujitsu driver package. Avoid mixing bundled CD software with newer downloads.
