Author: Sapphire

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the existing AMD/ATI driver with DDU in Safe Mode, disconnect network access to prevent Windows Update interference, then run the correct legacy Catalyst package as administrator.

Question 2

Device not detected or Code 43?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the Sapphire card, connect any required PCIe power cable, test another PCIe slot/PSU, and confirm the monitor is connected to the GPU—not the motherboard video output.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

HD-series Radeon cards require legacy Catalyst drivers, not current Adrenalin releases. Block Windows Update driver replacement and install the matching Sapphire/AMD legacy driver for your exact HD model and Windows version.
