Question 1

Installer fails or stops early?

Accepted Answer

Current AMD Adrenalin packages do not support the HD 2600. Remove any partial install, then run the last legacy Catalyst driver for the Radeon HD 2000 series as administrator; use Windows 7/8 compatibility mode if needed.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the card and confirm it appears in Device Manager. A yellow “!” or “Standard VGA” entry means the driver is missing or corrupted—reinstall the legacy Catalyst package and reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts/Windows Update overwrite?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing AMD drivers with DDU in Safe Mode, disconnect network during install, then block Windows Update from replacing the HD 2600 driver with a generic one.
