Name: SanDisk Firebird USB Device Driver
Author: SanDisk

Question 1

Install fails or shows a yellow warning icon?

Accepted Answer

The Firebird is a USB mass storage device; use Windows’ inbox driver. In Device Manager, right-click the device, choose Update driver > Browse my computer > Let me pick, then select USB Mass Storage Device and reboot.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB port and a known-good cable. Check Disk Management; if the drive appears without a letter, assign one. If it appears as Unknown USB Device, uninstall it in Device Manager and scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older SanDisk utilities or third-party USB mass storage drivers, reboot, and let Windows reinstall its native driver. Do not force an older driver over the current Windows USB stack.
