Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Saitek PS2700 setup as administrator, unblock the downloaded file, and temporarily disable antivirus. Keep the pad disconnected until setup finishes, then plug it into a rear USB 2.0 port.

Question 2

Pad not detected?

Accepted Answer

Open Device Manager and check for an unknown device or entry under Human Interface Devices. Uninstall it, unplug/replug the pad, and avoid unpowered USB hubs. Test another port or cable if possible.

Question 3

Version conflicts after updating?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing Saitek/Mad Catz PS2700 driver via Programs and Features, then delete the device in Device Manager with “Delete driver software.” Reboot before installing the new package; use Windows compatibility mode only if the installer refuses to run.
