Name: Saitek AV8R Classic Stick Driver
Author: Saitek

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the AV8R Classic, uninstall old Saitek/Mad Catz software and any hidden AV8R entries in Device Manager, reboot, then run the installer as administrator. On Windows 10/11, try Windows 7 compatibility mode and use a rear USB 2.0 port.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Test another USB port/cable and avoid unpowered hubs. Open `joy.cpl` (“Set up USB game controllers”); if missing, check Device Manager for Unknown/USB HID device, uninstall it, and scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate Saitek or HID-compliant game controller entries, install only one AV8R driver package, and recalibrate axes/buttons in Windows after updating.
