Name: S3 DeltaChrome S8 Driver
Author: S3

Question 1

Installer fails or crashes?

Accepted Answer

The S3 DeltaChrome S8 driver is legacy; run setup in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP/Vista. If it still refuses, use Device Manager’s “Have Disk” option and point directly to the driver’s INF file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the card, confirm the monitor is connected to it, and check BIOS/onboard-video settings. In Device Manager, look for an unknown display adapter, scan for hardware changes, then install the S3 driver manually.

Question 3

Version conflicts or black screen?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing S3 or other display drivers first, reboot, then install the DeltaChrome S8 package that matches your OS. If the display fails, boot Safe Mode and roll back or reinstall.
